Our Therapists



Aby Vulliamy

Aby Vulliamy is a registered music therapist, regulated by the Health Professions Council. She is a member of the Association of Professional Music Therapists. Aby studied music therapy at Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2002/3. In addition to providing Music Therapy services in Glasgow, Aby has been lecturing part-time since 2006 on the Music Therapy MSc at Queen Margaret University in Musselburgh.

Aby has worked as a Music Therapist in a wide range of settings, including with; primary and secondary children and adolescents in educational settings, looked after children in residential settings, women asylum seekers in resource centres, children and adolescents in psychiatric hospital, adults with learning disabilities in day care.

Aby plays the viola and piano, and is an active member of several Glasgow-based music ensembles. Aby reduced her workload when she became a mother in summer 2009, but continues to offer private supervision, in-house training and short-term projects as her family commitments allow.



George Murray

George is a Music Therapist, registered with the Health Professions Council. He is also a member of the Association of Professional Music Therapists. George studied music therapy at Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2002/3, and since then has been working as a Music Therapist in Glasgow.

George has worked with a wide range of different people. These have included people with dementia, children and adults with learning disabilities, and people in palliative care settings. George has experience of developing, delivering and evaluating music therapy services in a wide range of settings including schools, day centres, hospices and hospitals. He has also provided information, training and workshops for other professionals interested in music therapy.

George currently works as a music therapist at Ardgowan Hospice and the Elm Centre. He is also a visiting lecturer and placement supervisor for students on the Music Therapy MSc at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh. George also plays the trombone and enjoys music, swimming, kite flying, cooking and comedy.
